In a world of constant change, chaos and uncertainty, the Mental Toughness of your people is non-negotiable
Penny's powerful Mental Toughness keynote takes people from
Some people are able to thrive under pressure. Others crumble. Some people are focused, committed and always deliver. Others give up. Some people are confident on their ability to get it done. Others have little self belief.
The difference between the people that do, and the people that don't? It's their Mental Toughness.
Despite teenage homelessness and a challenging start to life (read more on the Meet Penny page) I was desperate to change things, and prove to the world that no starting point defines your finish line. Little did I know that the tough times were helping me to develop my Mental Toughness.
Against all the odds, I made my impossible dreams come true, and became the first woman to compete in a World rally Car - a place no one thought I could reach.
Today, I use my experience to help others develop Mental Toughness. Your mental toughness is a personality trait that explains why you do stuff, and why you don't do stuff. It's your ability to thrive under pressure, take bold action, and re-frame challenges as opportunities.
Whether I’m speaking on stage, coaching business leaders, or working with prison inmates, my message is the same: your circumstances don’t define you - your mindset does. I’m living proof that when you choose courage over comfort, incredible transformation is possible.

The 4 pillars of Mental Toughness are Control, Commitment, Challenge, and Confidence.
These are the foundation of high performance, how we stay focused, determined, and how we perform under stress and pressure.

Life Control Believing you have the ability to influence or direct the outcomes of your life. Having a sense of agency
Emotional Control Having the capacity to manage and regulate your emotions, ensuring they don’t negatively affect your performance
Challenge

Learning from everything Your ability to derive lessons and insights from all your experiences, viewing both failures and successes as learning experiences
Confidence
Confidence in your ability Having a strong belief in your ability, skills and competency. Trusting yourself to tackle tasks and challenges effectively
Confidence with people The confidence you have interacting with others, be able to influence, persuade and maintain positive relationships
Commitment
Goals Your ability to set, pursue and achieve specific, measurable objectives as a means to drive your motivation and success
Delivery Your focus on executing tasks and projects efficiently, prioritising the completion and delivery of outcomes
The 4 Cs model of Mental Toughness (Control, Commitment, Challenge, Confidence) was developed by Professor Peter Clough and Dr. Doug Strycharczyk, and is used with acknowledgement to AQR International.
